I think for sake of the KC project it may do us well to join SOL (society of organizational learning ) at MIT. It could I believe facilitate a good basis for interaction. we'd have to explore cost and other issues involved as there are differing levels of participation, I believe we would do well on the consultant level.
here is the sol site:

here is info on consultant level memberships

Rich,
I think that joining SoL as consultant members is a good idea. I just checked out the costs listed on the link you provided and price for 2005 is quoted as $275 each. Do you know if price is still the same for 2006 memberships? It says price for partial year is pro-rated, so if we join at the end of August, our costs for rest of 2006 would be approx. $90 each. ~ ron Re: Re: SoL consultant memberships?

response from sol
Hi Richard: It's great that you are interested in membership with SoL! A pro-rated fee, dependent upon when you are accepted for membership, is charged for the remainder of that year. Then you are invoiced in full for the upcoming year each November. Yearly dues are requested to be paid by December 31 of each year. The next deadline for acceptance of applications & references is October 6. Since these applications won't be finally considered for acceptance until Nov. 1-2, and notification won't happen until mid to late November, we will only charge those accepted at that time for the 2007 calendar year. Hope that answers your questions clearly. Let me know if you have other questions,. Sincerely, Sheila McGarey Membership Coordinator Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: SoL consultant memberships?

Hmm, sound like we wouldn't become SoL consultants till mid-to-late November, which is well after the late August dates when Lakshman goes to Chigao and gives our proposal for the AV Ba Center ("ABC") to Sam Pitroda.
What do you recommend we do Rich? I'm fine with starting our application process now, if that's what you think is the best strategy. My reading of Sheila's letter is that we'd get December06 for free if we apply now. Btw, are you going to take up Lakshman on his hint that you draft v1.0 of the one page proposal he's requesting? Hi Ron
I think that for the project it would help if we were consultants with SOL, but I dont think we necessarily need to rush it. And it maybe that only one of us needs to do it. For professional reasons it maybe good for myself anyway. I am starting to get ideas down on paper for the proposal, which I think will end of being 2 pages. When I get a rough draft together, I will send it to you and then you can tweak it. But if you have ideas in the meantime, may be good to start flushing them out. r KC rough draft

Ron,
I got rough draft of the ba proposal done. Hard as I tried I could only shorten it to 4 pages to explain the concept. Maybe you can do something with it. I basically explained the idea which although simple is quite complex to detail. Do you want me to post it here. After you look through it maybe we should send it to laksman to see if this is the thing Sam will want to see, rich Re: KC rough draft
