On April 23, 2005, Debashish Banerji presented a talk on "Visions of  Future Societies" at Arcosanti. The talk contrasted the notion of utopias arrived at by any form of engineering, determinism or intervention with one where the human sought social perfection through individual and collective transformation.

On the morning of April 24, 2005, there was a Panel Discussion titled "Towards an Improved Tomorrow" with Paolo Soleri and Debashish Banerji. It was moderated by alumnus Tony Brown, now director of the ECOSA Institute in Prescott. All discussions and presentations were followed by question and answer sessions, which made for lively interaction with presentors, visitors and staff.
