Hotlinking the gebser blog

Rich, It's easy to create hotlinks in your article posts, even in comments. E.g., to create the hotlink for the Gebser blog, first type a title for the link, then select it and click on the little chain link icon above, and finally enter the url in the entry pane that comes up. Like this: Gebser blog The last step is to check the hotlink when we 'Preview' our post before publishing it, to ensure that it functions as desired. This is especially important to avoid broken links within comments, since they are non-editable after posting. Doing so will make it more likely that our readers will check out the sites we're recommending. So, I suggest we include hotlinks in our standard protocol for article and comment posts, at least for links we really want folks to follow up on. If you agree, please edit your Gebser article and hotlink the Gebser ref there. - Thanks! Re: Hotlinking the gebser blog

Rich, I hope it doesn't feel overly critical to you that I'm suggesting all these formatting protocols in my public comments to your recent posts. I'm partly doing it so we agree on a set of protocols in preparation for serious training of prospective Authors & Moderators. And partly so that our posts and comments will set good examples of posting practices. Let me know if you'd rather we discuss this only in the Admin private area, and I'll delete my formatting feedback from the public areas. Gebser blog trackbacking to SCIY

Rich, >let me know what you think I'm assuming you're asking re its formatting, look & feel, etc., and not its content. If so, well, it's a work in progress for sure. Some broken links on Main Page, mis-formatting within quote pages. But it'll be interesting to watch it evolve. Looks to me like they might be using Blogware, the parent application to BlogHarbor's more sophisticated implementation, under their own domain name. - We can also create a private domain name for SCIY, so no mention of BlogHarbor will appear in our url. (go to our Admin area for a continuation of this comment) ~ ron |
