When I started listening seriously to the quotes of the Mother's voice located here on SCIY, I realized that I often couldn't understand all of her words. I also wanted to be able to hear them in the context of the parts of Savitri that she was reading and this wasn't easily accessible on Narad's excellent "SavitribySriAurobindo.com" website.
So, I've now posted transcriptions of each of the Mother's Savitri quotes. You can view them by going to SCIY's list of:
"Direct links to contents of each of "Short Stanza" folders"
At this location, each of the Mother's quotes are organized by Savitri's Books and Cantos. Clicking on any of the Cantos will bring you to a list of "Stanzas," the actual recordings of the Mother's voice reading short Savitri segments aloud. You can listen to each one via the included audio players.
To read the typed transcription of each of the quotes as you listen to them, simply click on the "more >" link as indicated. I've started each transcription with the Mother's quoted words, generally the first one or two sentences. In many cases, I've continued the quote for a few additional sentences, to provide context for the Mother's words.
Enjoy,
~ ron

That’s wonderful, Ron. Great work done. I was myself always feeling the need to have the original text along with the reading by the Mother. What I have been doing all these days was to keep the copy of Savitri at hand and follow the recitation. It is another experience. What a powerful voice, rich and resonant—the Mother’s! Does it not seem to come from somewhere else, not the far-away regions of silence, but of luminous and dynamic peace asserting itself everywhere? Sri Aurobindo would have recited it in an ’English’ way, as Nirod told me once. But here is something different—that can, in fact that does, shape our spirit and our soul in its firm movement. Congratulations.
But, then, you have one more thing to do! If these recitations can be accompanied by visual representations, won’t that be more rewarding? I mean, should we not try to have the paintings done by Huta under the Mother’s direct guidance? These are now available in the electronic form and should be convenient to put at the site—Huta permitting. The triple confluence would be wonderful. Maybe you could explore the possibility by contacting Shraddhavan. What do you say? With my best wishes RYD Re: Re: Transcriptions of Mother's voice, Huta paintings

Hi RY,
Yes, when hearing the Mother's actual voice, there certainly is, as you say, "...something different—that can, in fact that does, shape our spirit and our soul in its firm movement." That is my experience too. What a blessing that the technology existed (just in time) and the Mother made the effort, in those later years of her life, to make these recordings. What a precious treasure to hear Savitri read with her profound understanding, in her: "powerful voice, rich and resonant, ...seem[ing] to come from somewhere else, not the far-away regions of silence, but of luminous and dynamic peace asserting itself everywhere." What a marvelous idea you have RY, to include Huta's paintings done under the Mother's direct guidance, here on SCIY along with her voice and the transcriptions. Would you be able to talk with Shraddhavan (& Huta?) re their authorization to do this? If they say ok, I would be happy to handle the technical details of transferring, organizing and posting them. Warmest regards, ~ ron Re: Transcriptions of 'Savitri' quotes in the Mother's Voice are now available

Let me add one more point here. The Mother's reading in these compositions follows the text as we have in the University Edition of Savitri, the 1954-Edition. Huta used to copy down the selected passages on special sheets of paper, in large letter size, for the convenience of the Mother's reading. She used to go through them before the actual recordings were made. These sheets have been preserved by Huta. Much later, the tapes of these recordings were used by Sunil for his musical compositions.
